My Week in a Nutshell

Well it's been a long week. I tell you, words really do kill. Here are some of the interesting things that happened to me over this week and a half about:

  • Marisa and I spent the night at my Grandma's apartment. We felt so grown up being by ourselves in an apartment. Just preparing for college!
  • The next day we went shopping. I got a shirt. She got some sweats and the same shirt.
  • We had a band concert on Wednesday night. I played almost all the songs baritone... a new instrument that I am trying and is 10 times easier than the trombone.
  • We went to Los Angeles to get fitted for my back brace. I go back out the day before school ends. We had time to go shopping and I got some shirts and Tilly's.
  • We had a fieldtrip for NJHS.... on a non school day!! It was a learn and serve convention.
  • I figured out the guy I liked is a HUGE jerk but it's ok. I like someone else who is so much better and such a better person!
  • Kennedy and I went to the mall for a couple of hours on Saturday and looked around. I didn't get anything, and she was sick that day!
  • Had a leadership breakfast for Young Women's. It was yummy.
  • On Monday we went to Bath and Body Works. It's so amazing that we have something that is a good place in Casa Grande! I love that place. It's my favorite.

So that is my week in a nutshell. Crazy I know, but that's me!

Glad it's over

This week has been awful. Some things are too personal to post ona blog.... even if I know you.... so I am not going to go into detail about what happened this week. The trip to Los Angeles was fine... thanks to those of you who asked or emailed about it. I had a good time and got a kick out of Hank and Clyde. I will post about them later. The fieldtrip for NJHS went good. Long and boring but it was ok.

Back Brace

Well this week has been eventful. I am having a good week. Thursday I am going to have to fly to Los Angeles to get measured for my back brace. I am not to thrilled about that but I guess I am going to have to live with it. I don't really know how I feel about the whole situation. WISH ME LUCK!

LONDON -- J.K. Rowling has been spotted at cafes in Scotland working on a detective novel, a British newspaper reported Saturday.

The Sunday Times newspaper quoted Ian Rankin, a fellow author and neighbor of Rowling's, as saying the creator of the "Harry Potter" books is turning to crime fiction.

"My wife spotted her writing her Edinburgh criminal detective novel," the newspaper, which was available late Saturday, quoted Rankin as telling a reporter at an Edinburgh literary festival.

"It is great that she has not abandoned writing or Edinburgh cafes," said Rankin, who is known for his own police novels set in the historic Scottish city.

Rowling famously wrote initial drafts of the Potter story in the Scottish city's cafes. Back then, she was a struggling single mother who wrote in cafes to save on the heating bill at home.

Now she's Britain's richest woman _ worth $1 billion, according to Forbes magazine _ and her seven Potter books have sold more than 335 million copies worldwide.

In an interview with The Associated Press last month, Rowling said she believed she was unlikely to repeat the success of the Potter series, but confirmed she had plans to work on new books.

"I'll do exactly what I did with Harry _ I'll write what I really want to write," Rowling said.

The office of Rowling's literary agent, Christopher Little, was not immediately available to comment late Saturday.

KATIE:

I have had an eventful week. We worked long and hard in band for next week when we go to the Pageant of Bands. It is going to be so much fun! =]] We also worked hard for the Pep Assembly. The assembly went good. We played all the songs good.

I went to a sleepover party on Friday and they strted telling secrets that Kennedy and I knew they didn't want us to hear so we pretended to sleep. Then they started talking bad about us! I mean she invited us.... why talk bad about us? So I formulated a great plan. I pretended like I had just got up.... and looked around and them all sleepily and stuff. Then I said I had to call my mom because she wanted me too.... and I forgot. As I was getting up I "accidentally" stepped on Kennedy and got her up. She had to go take medicine so we went and called my mom and she came and got us. It was horrible.

So yesterday I hung out with kennedy. We went swimming, shopping, cleaned my room, and went to see a movie. We had a good time.... better than we would have had if we had stayed at the party. She wasn't worth the money to buy the present.

Then today was conference. I loved the talks. Some of them seemed like they were written just for me. I love that when it happens. It helps with your life alot. I loved President Monson's last remarks on the second session today. He was hilarious. So I guuess this week was ok. It could have been alot better but it could have been alot worse!
